What does a yacht insurance or boat insurance policy cover?
Yacht insurance or boat insurance policies cover you for unforeseen events. This can either be accidental damage sustained to your boat or your own personal liability to other people or their property that arising from your ownership of the boat. An example of this would be if you cause an accident with another boat that causes injury or damage.

Yacht insurance or boat insurance policies are relatively inexpensive when compared against other boat running costs such as mooring fees, fuel and maintenance costs. The average cost of a boat insurance policy depends on several factors the main ones being the value of your vessel, its age, the sailing area you require insurance for and your personal history. Powered vessels additionally are rated dependent on their maximum speed.
Do you offer cheap boat insurance?

Do you offer basic boat insurance?
Basic boat insurance is often also referred to Third Party Only Insurance. This doesn’t cover damage to your vessel but still covers your own personal liability to other people or their property that arising from your ownership of the boat. This can be a cheaper boat insurance option. Basic boat insurance sometimes appeals to customers who have older boats and do not wish to go to the expense of a survey report on the vessel, who are in the middle of boat restoration projects but still wish to do some boating or clients on long distance cruising who do not wish to insure the actual vessel.
Do you need to have a survey report to get boat insurance quotes?
The requirements to get a survey can differ for various types of boats. Some Insurers specify an age limit of boat where survey reports are required normally around 25 years on standard vessels. Boats built of wood are likely to require a survey a little earlier.
Some boat types like dinghies will not require a survey at all and basic boat insurance quote options like third party only insurance may also have exemptions from survey requirements.
